Bin Laden Compound and Hideout?

Thank heaven for satellites. Details are still coming in, but Osama Bin Laden's hideout appears to have been this structure in Abbottabad, Pakistan. It's located at 34.187663 North, 73.242517 East in Abbottabad, Pakistan. Bin Laden had lots of neighbours, including Pakistan's military academy, so it is suspicious how he could hide here without someone knowing. Thank heaven for US Navy SEALS too!

It should be noted that early Sunday morning enjoyed a nearly new Moon, so the Navy SEALS would have more cover of darkness in which to ambush their prey. The Moon's thin crescent was doubtless a factor in planning the raid. UPDATE: Better photo added.

Not sure that the structure shown is the correct one. Doesn't match the images released by DoD, and the date tag on the Google Earth satellite image is 2001. Sources indicate the bin Laden compound wasn't built until 2005.

This is the best news for ages! I'm glad that Bin Laden built himself his own prison and is now in hell. Just wish thousands of human lives could be saved elsewhere in the world by similarly well-executed raids against other thugs and dictators. Well done America! Probably the fact that the guys on the ground knew that Obama was watching live acted as a spur to do things right. Normally these operations go wrong due to inadequate preparations.

Nice hearing from you nige. Publicity hounds like Osama occupy the press, while the people who really make the world a better place often labor in darkness.

Such a great article it was which akistan's military academy, so it is suspicious how he could hide here without someone knowing. In which the Moon's thin crescent was doubtless a factor in planning the raid. Thanks for sharing this article.
