From the Beach
Yesterday bought a very small swimsuit! This morning was finally a chance to swim in the ocean! On Sunday Avenida Atlantique in front of Copacabana Beach is given over to pedestrians, bicycles and rollerblades. The weather in Rio this weekend is nearly perfect.
With a nod to Carl Brannen, the wondrous Kea today links to a paper by Yves Sanejouand:
Empirical evidence for a varying speed of light
In concluding remarks Yves thanks someone named Riofrio, with whom he has apparently been in touch. As to which side is winning this game, who is on the beach in Rio?

Thanks, Louise, for your encouragement. There are no wonderful beaches around here, but I have been making the most of the summer with long walks through the countryside.
For Kea: Your support will always be remembered. It is Winter down here, much nicer than an English Winter!
So where is the pic with the undersize swimsuit ? I feel deprived of my share of fun today! :)
cheers,
T.
Yes, how are we supposed to think about varying speed of light when there is a "very small swimsuit" in discussion?
Meanwhile, my new paper got moderated off of arXiv. I will attempt to talk sense into them when it reaches some milestone in publishing.
For Carl and Tommaso: Tasteful picture including swimsuit coming soon.
Have courage, Carl. The arxiv is censoring itself out of relevance.
Before some time I wrote about experimental evidence of variable light speed.

This is good comment indeed, as all massive bodies would undergo a slight expansion during universe evolution. Such dilatation was observed experimentally.
